Benelli, the Italian bike maker, is planning to
roll out its 250cc motorcycle - TNT 25 - in the Indian market on December 18th.
Upon its launch, the DSK-Benelli TNT 25 will become the company's most
affordable bike in the country.
Power for the DSK-Benelli TNT 25 will come from a
249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Mated to a six-speed gearbox,
this powertrain develops 24bhp at 9,000rpm and 21Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
The DSK Benelli TNT 25 will be assembled in India through completely knocked
down (CKD) units.
Though there is no official word yet about its
pricing, we expect it to cost around Rs 1.80 lakh - Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). At
this price point, the DSK Benelli TNT 25 will rival products like KTM
Duke 390 and Mahindra Mojo.
An entry-level naked sport bike, the Benelli TNT 25
takes its design cues from the TNT 300. With features such sculpted tank,
multi-spoke alloys, split seat, side slung exhaust and others, it looks quite
sporty. The 250cc bike also features a part-analogue-part-digital instrument
cluster.
